A versatile, space-saving light source for a variety of settings, this torchiere floor lamp works well for small and large rooms alike. With its sleek, stylish, stay-cool housing, the torchiere makes a nice choice for general lighting in a bedroom, living room, dorm room, or small apartment or for accent lighting in an office, waiting room, boutique, or hotel lobby. Like other torchieres, the unit directs light upward, reflecting the illuminating glow off the ceiling and surrounding walls. The torchiere's plastic off-white frosted shade directs most of the light upward, but its half-shade design also allows for some downward light, too. For added convenience, the floor lamp's three-way switch can be turned to adjust the light output from low to medium or high (18-, 26-, or 45-watt settings). On the highest 45-watt setting, the lamp puts out 2900 lumens with a lifespan of up to 10,000 hours, similar to that of a 175-watt incandescent. An 18-watt and a 26-watt GU24 warm white (2700k) fluorescent bulb comes included. Even more, the floor lamp offers instant start/instant bright (IS/IB) operation, accepts all wattages of bulbs with a GU24 base, provides a heavy-weighted base for stability, and carries an Energy Star rating, which means it runs efficiently, helping to reduce energy costs and impact on the earth. The UL-certified torchiere measures 10 inches in diameter by 70 inches high and carries a two-year limited warranty.
